What Your MPs Say!
The FBU’s political work is central to all of the union’s campaigns to win the best deal for FBU members in the workplace. All of our campaigns in the South West involve lobbying and influencing politicians at every level - in Westminster, Brussels, on local Fire Authorities and councils, even in Brussels!
As part of our campaigning work we regularly write to Members of Parliament in the South West and raise issues of concern to FBU members and the Fire & Rescue Service in general. Listed below are the responses that we have had from individual MP’s to the concerns that we have raised. Have a look at what your MP has (or hasn’t!) said. You will see that some Members of Parliament haven’t even bothered to reply on vital issues such as flooding or pensions!
Remember: your Member of Parliament works for you. Hold them to account by writing to them on a regular basis and let them know your concerns.
