In May 2011 the FBU commissioned YouGov to run an online survey to gather evidence from FBU members about their attitude to the Government’s proposed changes to the firefighters’ pension schemes. This will involve a debate in Parliament and it’s really important that all the MPs in the South West are properly briefed and understand why these plans won’t work for the Fire & Rescue Service!
Every Member should either write to or meet their MP and raise the issues involved. To assist in this a detailed briefing note has been prepared and is attached to the link above.

South West FBU Official Tam McFarlane appears on the Sunday Politics show outlining the folly of politicians failing to listen to the professionals.
